B.Ed teachers' education on child rights
It's a strong step towards ensuring child protection becomes a priority in the education system.
Thozhamai, in collaboration with UNICEF, has successfully integrated Child Rights and Protection as a core subject for the second semester of the B.Ed. program under Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (TNTEU), which has 638 affiliated colleges. This initiative reaches around 60,000 student teachers annually, creating a significant impact on future educators.
To ensure quality teaching of the syllabus, Thozhamai and UNICEF have conducted outreach programs across 8 zones in Tamil Nadu, training 672 teachers who are responsible for delivering the subject on Child Rights and Protection. This effort likely plays a crucial role in equipping future teachers with the essential knowledge to advocate for and protect child rights across educational institutions.
