Future Makers

Empowering adolescent girls through lifeskills and sports:

Futuremakers program was previously known as the goal program. Thozhamai has partnered with Women Win an international non-profit organization registered in the Netherlands. Providing awareness to promote worldwide gender equity. Its ultimate goal is to transform adolescent girls and women who live in underserved communities. This program was mainly focused on the development of sports and life skills education for girls.

Thozhamai initiated the Futuremakers (then Goal) Program in Chennai back in 2014, starting at Semmencherry. Since its inception, the program has extensively engaged with various schools, colleges, and communities, reaching out to adolescent girls across Chennai and Chengalpattu districts. From its early stages, the Futuremakers program has notably empowered numerous girls, aiding their selection into national, state, and district-level netball teams. Additionally, many adolescent girls have greatly benefited from the life skill sessions provided.

Women Win: Future Makers :

The Future Makers program is an award-winning initiative dedicated to transforming the lives of adolescent girls aged 12 to 19 in underserved communities. Since 2014, we have positively impacted 15,950 girls across 24 government and government-aided schools, as well as 6 communities.

We have established 4 community clubs and introduced sign language education, life skills training, and netball to 27 Differently abled (speech and hearing-impaired) students. Our efforts also include capacity-building workshops for teachers, peer leaders, staff, and community sports coaches. We have 4 modules.

Through our netball program, over 50 children have gained the skills to compete at state, national, and district levels. We have successfully organized two inter-school tournaments at the YMCA grounds and held an alumni meeting to foster continued support and engagement.
